LGBTQ+
Individuals under the LGBTQ+ umbrella face unique mental health challenges as a result of the discrimination, prejudice, harassment, and victimization they frequently endure surrounding their gender identity or sexual orientation.
LGBTQ+ people are at higher risk for depression, anxiety, suicide, PTSD, eating disorders, addiction, self-harm behaviors, and panic attacks stemming from repeated exposure to bullying, rejection, hostility, abuse, stigma, isolation, and denial of civil liberties in their communities or families. Many suffer trauma from the process of hiding and coming out. Structural barriers also exist around access to inclusive healthcare.
Here at Mindagon, we utilize evidence-based affirmative therapeutic approaches tailored to the needs of LGBTQ+ clients of all ages. Our welcoming services focus on healing past wounds, developing healthy coping mechanisms, and helping clients embrace their identity so they can thrive as their authentic selves.
